Sufix is the line brand of Rapala VMC, the Finnish tackle group. Its 832 Advanced Superline is one of the most popular braids in the world, built from seven Dyneema (HMPE) fibers and one GORE Performance Fiber for strength and abrasion resistance. For deep droppers, Sufix offers 832 in big bulk spools up to 130 lb, a metered 832 Multicolor version in some markets, and the newer 13-carrier 131 G-Core.
This review covers each line, which ones are sold in the US, and how to use them on an electric reel.
Sufix at a glance
832 Advanced Superline

832 is made with Sufix’s R8 Precision Braiding: eight fibers (seven HMPE and one GORE Performance Fiber) at 32 weaves per inch. The GORE fiber adds abrasion resistance and reduces line vibration. In the US it comes in single colors only, but in bulk spools big and strong enough for electric reels.
US bulk spools (Bass Pro / Cabela’s)
Colors include Hi-Vis Yellow, Ghost, Coastal Camo, Neon Lime and Low-Vis Green, plus the newer Sunrise color on smaller spools.
832 Multicolor: the metered version

832 Multicolor uses the same 7+1 construction with a metered pattern: each 10-meter section has its own color, a 5 cm red stripe marks every meter, and a 20 cm black stripe marks every 5 meters. The five-color sequence repeats along the line. It is sold mainly in Europe (300 m spools, PE 2–4, about 39–63 lb). A 3,500 yd bulk version was sold in New Zealand but is now listed as unavailable.
In Australia, Sufix also sells a metered SFX 8X braid in 300 m spools from 30 to 50 lb.
131 G-Core: 13-carrier braid

131 G-Core wraps 12 HMPE fibers around a single GORE Performance Fiber core, for a perfectly round line. Sufix calls it the most reliable braid it has made and says the extra fibers give a better knot. It comes in low-vis green 150 yd spools from 6 to 80 lb, so it suits jigging and lighter rigs more than filling an electric reel.

Pros and cons
Who it’s for
Where to buy
In the US, Sufix 832 bulk spools are sold at Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and Discount Tackle. The metered 832 Multicolor is easiest to find from European dealers and Rapala Europe.
Verdict
Sufix 832 is one of the toughest braids you can put on an electric reel, and its big bulk spools in up to 130 lb make it a strong choice for heavy deep dropping. The catch for US anglers is that the metered version is hard to find, so most use a single color with the reel’s line counter.
