How it fishes: The asymmetric shape makes the SK glide and flutter on the fall, then kick when you lift. It’s a true all-rounder. The 170–300 g sizes cover most Florida ledges, and the lighter sizes work on shallow reefs and wrecks.
MR Slow Jig

Daiwa describes the MR Slow as a compact, dense jig that falls erratically, stopping and changing direction because of its angled shape. It comes with two assist hooks on braid stiffened with an internal fluorocarbon core, which helps stop the hooks tangling around the jig.
Why compact matters: A short, dense jig sinks faster and holds the bottom better in current than a long jig of the same weight. That makes the MR Slow useful when the Gulf Stream is pushing and longer jigs drift off the ledge.
Florida stockist: Capt. Harry’s Fishing Supply in Miami had the 260 g on clearance at $16.76 (was $20.95) in Goggle Eye and Iwashi in September 2026. It also lists the 220 g.
FK Jig (Fall Killer)

The FK is built for a flashing fall. In Japan, Daiwa describes the concept as a fall that’s “not too fast, not too slow,” and markets it for one-pitch jigging. US models come with two assist hooks. Fishfield lists the 180 g at 6.0″ with 4/0 hooks, 210 g at 6.3″ and 250 g at 6.8″ with 5/0 hooks.
Is it a slow pitch jig? Not strictly. Daiwa positions the FK for fall action and faster jigging, and some retailers call it “FK Fast Jigging.” It’s a good jig to carry when fish want a quicker, flashier presentation than a classic slow pitch flutter.
Japan: The Saltiga FK Jig (lead, 130–250 g, 12 colors, ¥1,900–¥2,800) and FK Jig TG tungsten (130/150/180 g, ¥3,800–¥5,000) are sold without hooks.
Saltiga TG Bait (tungsten)
Tungsten is about 1.7 times denser than lead, so a TG Bait is much smaller than a lead jig of the same weight. It sinks faster, holds bottom in current and cuts through the water with less drag.
- US: the 180 g Saltiga TG Bait sells for $59.99 at CharkBait and Bob Sands Tackle. CharkBait describes it as 4.15″ long and asymmetric (one flat side, one rounded). Bob Sands lists US-exclusive colors, including Silver Zebra Glow and Green Gold Zebra. Hooks aren’t included.
- Japan: TG Bait comes in 10 sizes from 30 g to 250 g and 18 colors (¥1,800–¥8,800).
When to use it: Strong current, deep water and fish that are feeding on small bait. It’s expensive, so fish it where you won’t lose many jigs. It’s a general-purpose tungsten jig rather than a dedicated slow pitch jig.
Saltiga SL Jig SD (Japan)
For super-deep water, Daiwa Japan makes the Saltiga SL Jig SD, a semi-long slow jig with a bulbous-bow head borrowed from ship hull design to reduce drag. It comes in 230, 260, 290, 330, 400, 500 and 800 g (193–318 mm), 9 colors, without hooks, at ¥1,550–¥4,550. We didn’t find a US retailer; it’s a JDM import.

Rigging and hook tips
- Check the assist hooks on each SK and MR Slow before fishing. Swap them if the points are dull or the cord is frayed.
- Front hook only in snaggy water. Removing the tail hook reduces snags on rocky ledges.
- Rig jigs sold without hooks (TG Bait, Japanese FK and SL) with twin assist hooks at the head, sized to the jig.
- Use a solid ring and split ring rated above your leader.
