Saltiga SK Jig: Daiwa’s slow pitch workhorse
Daiwa describes the SK as a Japanese slow jigging design that “falls, spins and flutters” with a “kick and slap throughout the water column.” Retailers note its asymmetric profile and large painted eyes.

How it fishes: The asymmetric shape makes the SK glide and flutter on the fall, then kick when you lift. It’s a true all-rounder. The 170–300 g sizes cover most Florida ledges, and the lighter sizes work on shallow reefs and wrecks.
MR Slow Jig

Daiwa describes the MR Slow as a compact, dense jig that falls erratically, stopping and changing direction because of its angled shape. It comes with two assist hooks on braid stiffened with an internal fluorocarbon core, which helps stop the hooks tangling around the jig.
Why compact matters: A short, dense jig sinks faster and holds the bottom better in current than a long jig of the same weight. That makes the MR Slow useful when the Gulf Stream is pushing and longer jigs drift off the ledge.
Florida stockist: Capt. Harry’s Fishing Supply in Miami had the 260 g on clearance at $16.76 (was $20.95) in Goggle Eye and Iwashi in September 2026. It also lists the 220 g.
FK Jig (Fall Killer)

The FK is built for a flashing fall. In Japan, Daiwa describes the concept as a fall that’s “not too fast, not too slow,” and markets it for one-pitch jigging. US models come with two assist hooks. Fishfield lists the 180 g at 6.0″ with 4/0 hooks, 210 g at 6.3″ and 250 g at 6.8″ with 5/0 hooks.
Is it a slow pitch jig? Not strictly. Daiwa positions the FK for fall action and faster jigging, and some retailers call it “FK Fast Jigging.” It’s a good jig to carry when fish want a quicker, flashier presentation than a classic slow pitch flutter.
Japan: The Saltiga FK Jig (lead, 130–250 g, 12 colors, ¥1,900–¥2,800) and FK Jig TG tungsten (130/150/180 g, ¥3,800–¥5,000) are sold without hooks.
Saltiga TG Bait (tungsten)

Tungsten is about 1.7 times denser than lead, so a TG Bait is much smaller than a lead jig of the same weight. It sinks faster, holds bottom in current and cuts through the water with less drag.
- US: the 180 g Saltiga TG Bait sells for $59.99 at CharkBait and Bob Sands Tackle. CharkBait describes it as 4.15″ long and asymmetric (one flat side, one rounded). Bob Sands lists US-exclusive colors, including Silver Zebra Glow and Green Gold Zebra. Hooks aren’t included.
- Japan: TG Bait comes in 10 sizes from 30 g to 250 g and 18 colors (¥1,800–¥8,800).
When to use it: Strong current, deep water and fish that are feeding on small bait. It’s expensive, so fish it where you won’t lose many jigs. It’s a general-purpose tungsten jig rather than a dedicated slow pitch jig.
Saltiga SL Jig SD (Japan)

For super-deep water, Daiwa Japan makes the Saltiga SL Jig SD, a semi-long slow jig with a bulbous-bow head borrowed from ship hull design to reduce drag. It comes in 230, 260, 290, 330, 400, 500 and 800 g (193–318 mm), 9 colors, without hooks, at ¥1,550–¥4,550. We didn’t find a US retailer; it’s a JDM import.
SL Semi Long Jig

Daiwa USA says the SL is “precisely balanced” so it will “fall horizontally, sliding side to side,” with an erratic action from the tail. It comes rigged with two VMC 7264 assist hooks. Daiwa doesn’t call it a slow pitch jig, but the horizontal, sliding fall is exactly what slow pitch anglers look for, and the 130–200 g sizes cover typical South Florida depths in light current.
Kyohga Jig Semi Long (Japan)
Daiwa Japan sells the Kyohga Jig Semi Long as a slow jig for ribbonfish (tachiuo) jigging. It has an asymmetric semi-long shape and comes in 80, 100, 130, 160 and 200 g at ¥720–¥1,150 before tax. The line dates from 2018, and new colors were scheduled for August 2026. It’s a budget JDM option rather than a US product, so expect to buy it from a Japanese export shop.
Tungsten jigs
Daiwa makes more tungsten jigs than most brands. In Japan the TG Bait family alone runs to five versions (TG Bait, SLJ, BLJ, Slim and Kamigake), and there’s also the Fall Bait TG and the Saltiga FK Jig TG. Most are light jigs of 30–120 g. Only the TG Bait (to 250 g) and the FK Jig TG (to 180 g) reach typical Florida slow pitch weights.
In the US, the one Daiwa tungsten jig we found at regular tackle shops is the Saltiga TG Bait 180 g (covered above). The Japanese models show up as imports on marketplaces, but we didn’t find them on daiwa.us, so expect to buy from a Japanese export shop.

Saltiga TG Bait
(Covered above.) The US version is a 180 g, 4.15″ asymmetric tungsten jig sold without hooks for $59.99 at CharkBait and Bob Sands Tackle. It’s the easiest Daiwa tungsten jig to buy in the US. Use it when current pushes a 200 g lead jig off the bottom.
TG Bait
Daiwa Japan calls the TG Bait a compact tungsten casting jig with a realistic sardine shape. It swims steadily on the retrieve and slides almost flat on the fall, like a weakened baitfish. It comes in 10 sizes from 30 g (55 mm) to 250 g (130 mm), with 12 colors in most sizes and 10 in the 210 and 250 g. No hooks are included. The 150–250 g sizes are the ones to import for Florida wrecks and ledges when bait is small.
TG Bait SLJ
This is the TG Bait built for super light jigging. It has an asymmetric body that mixes curved and flat surfaces, and it comes rigged with a front twin assist hook with tinsel and a rear single hook. Sizes are 30 g (55 mm), 45 g (64 mm), 60 g (68 mm) and 80 g (78 mm), in 10–14 colors. In Florida it suits light tackle on shallow reefs, for snapper, grunts and porgies.
TG Bait BLJ
The BLJ adds a blade to the TG Bait body. Daiwa says it moves to a horizontal position right after the jerk, thanks to a center-balanced design. It comes with Daiwa’s BLJ Assist Hook SS and a ball-bearing swivel. Weights are 30–100 g (55–87 mm) in 12 colors. It’s a shallow-water jig, useful on nearshore reefs when fish want flash.
TG Bait Slim
The Slim is a symmetrical, slim tungsten jig with its weight toward the front. Daiwa pitches it for small baitfish: jerk it, stop it, and it wobbles its head like a weakened bait. It comes in 100 g and 120 g, 8 colors each. Daiwa’s page doesn’t say whether hooks are included.
TG Bait Kamigake
The Kamigake is a TG Bait tuned for fish that bite short. Its hooks are rigged so one point sits near the middle of the jig, to catch fish that hit the body rather than the head. It comes rigged in 80 g (80 mm), 100 g (87 mm) and 120 g (92 mm), 6 colors each. In Florida, try it for fish that nip at jigs without getting hooked, such as mackerel on nearshore reefs.
Fall Bait TG
The Fall Bait TG has a center-balanced body that rolls quickly as it sinks. Daiwa aims it at vertical jigging for sea bream, rockfish, flounder and other bottom fish. It comes in 30, 40, 60 and 80 g, 6 colors each. Daiwa doesn’t publish lengths or say whether hooks are included. It’s a light-water jig, not a deep drop tool.
Saltiga FK Jig TG
(Mentioned above.) This is the tungsten version of the Fall Killer: a thin, asymmetric body that sinks fast and flashes on the fall. Daiwa says it works for both one-pitch jerking and slow pitch jigging. It comes in 130 g (105 mm), 150 g (110 mm) and 180 g (116 mm), 9 colors, without hooks. Daiwa Japan also lists a lighter Saltiga FK Jig TG SLJ at ¥2,700–¥3,300, but we couldn’t confirm its weights.
Tungsten or lead? At Daiwa, tungsten costs roughly two to three times as much as lead. The Saltiga TG Bait 180 g is $59.99, while a 200 g Saltiga SK is $21.99 MSRP, and in Japan the FK Jig TG costs ¥3,800–¥5,000 against ¥1,900–¥2,800 for the lead FK Jig. Buy tungsten for strong current and small bait, and stick with the SK and MR Slow for everyday ledge fishing.

Color tips: Glow colors (Glow Pink, Zebra Glow, Glow Dot, Super Glow) are the standard choice below about 200 ft, where light fades. Pink, Blue Pink and Sardine work well in clearer, shallower water.
Rigging and hook tips
- Check the assist hooks on each SK and MR Slow before fishing. Swap them if the points are dull or the cord is frayed.
- Front hook only in snaggy water. Removing the tail hook reduces snags on rocky ledges.
- Rig jigs sold without hooks (TG Bait, Japanese FK and SL) with twin assist hooks at the head, sized to the jig.
- Use a solid ring and split ring rated above your leader.
