Major Craft’s Jigpara jigs are some of the best-value Japanese jigs sold in the US, usually $9–$19 each. For slow jigging there are two families. The small Jigpara Slow (10–100 g) comes pre-rigged with assist hooks for light slow jigging and casting. The Jigpara Vertical range covers the heavier weights Florida needs, including the Vertical Long Slow in 100–500 g. Their 6-layer coating stands up to rocks and teeth.

Jigpara Slow (JPSLOW)
Major Craft describes the action as a “fine-pitch leaf-fall”: an asymmetrical, oval body that slashes on the lift and falls slowly like a leaf. The balance sits slightly to the rear, so it also casts well.

Hooks: pre-rigged. The 10–15 g sizes have single assist hooks front and rear; from 20 g up, a twin assist in front and a single at the rear, on Japanese-made hooks.

Florida use: At 10–100 g, the Jigpara Slow is a shallow-water jig: inshore reefs, wrecks in 40–120 ft, and casting to breaking fish. For deeper ledges, use the Vertical range below.

Major Craft America calls it “a true hybrid jig with an asymmetrical body that can be used for speed jigging or slow jigging,” ideal for middle to deep water. Japan says it has a stable horizontal fall.

Florida use: This is the Major Craft jig for Florida ledges and deep water. The 180–300 g sizes suit most ledges, and 350–500 g handles deep water and current. It’s inexpensive enough that losing one in the rocks doesn’t hurt.
Jigpara Vertical Slow Pitch (JPVSP)

A dedicated slow pitch vertical jig. TackleDirect lists the JPVSP-100, 120, 150 and 250 and describes a 6-layer coating that resists “rocky bottom hits and strong teeth.” A Japanese retailer describes it as easily turning sideways, for bottom fish, rockfish and sea bream, or big pelagics. Inomata in Japan sold the 150 g at ¥871. TackleDirect didn’t show a price.
Jigpara Vertical Short and Long

Vertical Short ($12.99): 80–180 g (115–155 mm), no hooks. “Regular classic action at jerking and irregular falling, including sliding back and slow horizontal falling.”
Vertical Long ($12.99–$13.99): 100–300 g (160–220 mm), no hooks. “Wide slide action at jerking and irregular falling.”
These are general vertical jigs that work for both speed and slow jigging. The Short holds bottom in current; the Long gives a bigger profile.
Jigpara Vertical Quell

Major Craft’s premium vertical jig, $18.99–$26.99, in 200, 250, 300 and 400 g. Major Craft America says it took three years of development, is handcrafted and tuned, and has a mountain-shaped side body, horizontal rolling action, front weighting and a 5-layer coating. Hook details aren’t stated.
Maki Jig Slow (MAKI-SLW)

The Maki Jig Slow is a compact bladed jig that falls slowly and flashes and vibrates on the drop, so it works without much rod action. The US version comes with a front assist hook and a rear treble. Major Craft aims it at mackerel, Spanish mackerel, rockfish and sea bream. It’s a light-tackle jig, not a deep drop jig: think shallow wrecks, kingfish and Spanish mackerel rather than 300 ft ledges.
First Jig Slow (FJSW, Japan)

Major Craft Japan’s entry-level slow jig comes pre-rigged front and rear with Japanese-made, fluorine-coated Gekisasu assist hooks. It’s slightly front-weighted for a stable, horizontal turn on the fall, and Major Craft pitches it at anglers new to slow jigging. It isn’t sold by Major Craft America, so you’ll need a Japanese export shop.
Tungsten jigs
Major Craft makes three tungsten jig families, all under the Jigpara name. The Jigpara TG is a small rear-weighted casting and SLJ jig with hooks included (10–120 g in Japan). The Jigpara Vertical TG is the vertical jig of the group and the only one that reaches Florida slow pitch weights. The Jigpara Ender TG is a compact 40–100 g jig released in Japan in July 2025. Major Craft also sells tungsten tai rubber heads (Tai no Mi TG), which aren’t jigs and aren’t covered here.
In the US, Major Craft America sells the Jigpara TG (as “Jigpara Tungsten” and “Jigpara Tungsten Micro”) and the Vertical TG in 100–250 g. We didn’t find the Ender TG on majorcraft-america.com, so it’s a Japan import for now. These are several times the price of the lead Jigpara jigs above.

Jigpara Vertical TG

This is the Major Craft tungsten jig for Florida bottom fishing. Major Craft Japan describes a compact profile for days when fish are pressured or bait is small, and says it works for one-pitch jigging, fluttering falls and plain retrieves. Japan lists 40–180 g in 14 colors (¥2,310–¥6,930, or ¥2,618–¥7,260 for Live Bait colors). Major Craft America sells 100, 120, 150, 180 and 250 g at $46.99, $50.99, $54.99, $68.99 and $120.99, though the 250 g was sold out when we checked.
Neither site publishes lengths or says whether hooks are included, so plan on adding your own assist hooks. A 150–180 g Vertical TG has the sink rate of a much heavier lead jig, which helps when current pushes a 250 g Vertical Long Slow off the ledge.
Jigpara TG
The Jigpara TG is a rear-weighted tungsten jig built to cast far and swim naturally. Major Craft Japan pitches it for shore jigging and offshore SLJ. It comes rigged: a single assist hook with tinsel and a rear treble on the 10–32 g sizes, and a double assist hook with no rear hook from 40 g up. Major Craft America lists 24 g (50 mm) to 60 g (63 mm) at $19.99–$31.99, plus a Live Bait color line at $20.99–$31.99. In Florida it’s a light-tackle jig for shallow reefs, Spanish mackerel and bonito, not a ledge jig.
Jigpara Tungsten Micro
This is the smallest Jigpara TG, sold separately in the US in 10, 14 and 18 g. It comes rigged with hooks and five colors (Iwashi, Pink, Red Gold, Blue Pink, Zebra Glow). Prices at Major Craft America are $14.99, $15.99 and $16.99. Use it on spinning tackle from bridges and inlets, or when bait is tiny.
Jigpara Ender TG
The Ender TG is the newest Major Craft tungsten jig, released in Japan in July 2025. Major Craft says the idea is a “thoroughly compact silhouette” with the weight set slightly toward the rear. It’s meant for one-pitch jigging, horizontal falls for bottom fish, and blade jigging with a blade hook on the rear. It comes in 40, 60, 80 and 100 g, six colors, ¥2,200–¥4,180. Major Craft’s page doesn’t say whether hooks are included. It’s a nearshore and SLJ jig for Florida.
Tungsten or lead? The lead Vertical Long Slow costs $12.99–$28.99 at Major Craft America across 100–500 g, while the Vertical TG runs $46.99–$68.99 in its 100–180 g sizes. For most Florida ledges, the lead Vertical Long Slow and Vertical Slow Pitch are the better buy because you’ll lose jigs in the rocks. Carry one or two Vertical TG jigs for days when the current is too strong for lead.

- Vertical jigs come without hooks. Rig with twin assist hooks at the head; Major Craft sells ZOC and ZOC Power assist hooks.
- Match hook size to jig size and target: bigger hooks for amberjack and grouper.
- Front hook only reduces snags on rocky ledges.
- Use a solid ring and split ring rated above your leader.

Major Craft’s Jigpara jigs are the budget way to stock a slow pitch jig box. The Jigpara Slow is a great light jig with hooks included, ideal for inshore reefs and casting. For Florida ledges, the Vertical Long Slow (to 500 g) and Vertical Slow Pitch do the real work at a fraction of the price of boutique Japanese jigs. Add your own assist hooks, pick glow colors for deep water, and you can afford to fish them hard around structure.
