Yamaga Blanks calls itself a “factory brand”: it designs the blanks, rolls the carbon, paints, assembles and ships every rod from its own factory in Kumamoto. Company overview
The parent company, Yamaga Tsurigu, was established in 1990. The Yamaga Blanks brand launched in 2008, with the Galahad and EARLY rods among its first models. It began with light saltwater lure rods (the BlueCurrent series for horse mackerel and rockfish) and has since added offshore jigging, electric-reel rods (Galahad 電) and fly rods.

Galahad Slow Global (2024)
Tomo’s Tackle calls it a new 2024 collection “available exclusively for international markets, not sold in Japan.” CharkBait says it has “new upgraded Titanium components and redesigned blanks” tailored for US conditions, a palming-style reel seat (rather than the T-DPS seat common on Japanese slow pitch rods), and a 2-year international warranty.

The 584 is unusual. At 5’8″, it’s shorter than most slow pitch rods, but rated for 300–500 g on PE 3. The short length gives more leverage with heavy jigs and big fish, and makes the rod easier to handle in deep, fast water.
The original Galahad Slow (Japan, discontinued 2021)
Yamaga’s official site lists the Japanese Galahad Slow as production ended in 2021. You may still find remaining stock. All are one-piece, 99.8% carbon, with Fuji SiC titanium-frame K guides and a Fuji TCS17 reel seat.

Yamaga describes the 62/3 as good for anglers new to slow pitch (“easier initial jig action”), and the 62/4 as its heavy model for water deeper than 200 m and fast current. A 63/1 (80 g) and 73/4 LongFall (250 g) were also in the series.
