Accurate builds CNC-machined aluminum reels in California. Its signature TwinDrag system puts drag washers on both sides of the spool (lever reels) or main gear (TwinStarDrag), for smooth, balanced drag.

2025–2026 updates and current generations
2025: Accurate launched the Ascender, its most affordable reel, with the 300 and 400 sizes in stores by ICAST in July 2025 (The Fisherman, August and September 2025). The 500, 500N, 600 and 600N sizes and Ascender Jigging versions, described then as future releases, are now listed. Prices start at $299.99 (launch coverage said from $309).
Late 2024: Accurate announced the Valiant 2 in October 2024 for availability by Black Friday — the first Valiant revision in eight years, adding a strike button, XCT cast control and DirecShift two-speed. Lite Line and Jigging versions followed.
2026: Accurate's homepage shows a limited-edition “LA Inspired” Tern2; we found no release date or specification changes.

American machined lever-drag specialist
Accurate Fishing Products is a Southern California maker best known for TwinDrag — drag washers on both sides of the spool, which spreads load and heat for smoother drag in long fights. Its reels are CNC-machined from aluminum; the ATD Platinum is marketed as 100% made in the USA.
The catalog is now deliberately small: Ascender (value star drag), Tern2 (premium star drag), Valiant 2 (lever, with Lite Line and Jigging versions) and ATD Platinum (big game). Most models are available in right- and left-hand versions, which makes Accurate popular with jigging anglers.
How to choose
Choose the Ascender to get into Accurate for about $300; the Tern2 for a premium star drag for live bait and casting; the Valiant 2 for an all-round lever drag (two-speed for tuna); the Valiant 2 Jigging for slow-pitch; the Lite Line for 20 lb-class long-range fishing; and the ATD Platinum for stand-up and trolling for big tuna and marlin.
