Deepliner is one of the names that built slow pitch jigging. Its Spy and Slow Skip jigs are classics (see our Deepliner jigs review), and its Logical rods are among the most respected slow pitch rods in Japan. The Japanese Anglers Secrets guide rates the Logical “Class A.” The range is unusually wide: three lengths, eleven powers from 30 g to 800 g, and a lighter, high-end Logical Prime.

Company overview
Deepliner is the brand of Deepars Factory Co., Ltd., led by founder Masayoshi Higashimura. According to the company’s own history:

Deepliner’s core slow pitch rod. Its concept is simple: the rod’s job is “manipulating jigs” and “sensing ocean information.”

The Logical 55 (1.7 m, 10 guides) and Logical 70 (2.1 m, 11–12 guides) use the same jig and PE ratings for each power. Rod weights run 112–142 g for the 55 and 124–169 g for the 70. Deepliner’s Japanese page lists powers #0–#10; its English page says #0–#8, but retailers sell up to #10.
What reviewers say: Japanese site TsuriHack tested a Logical at about 150 m. The reviewer found the practical range around 200–400 g, with the tip still recovering well at 300–400 g, and praised its sensitivity, saying the rod “moves the jig automatically.” Downsides: Torzite rings make slightly more line noise than SiC, and there are user reports of rings popping out.

Japanese retailer MAREBLE sells the Prime 55 in #0–#10 at ¥96,800–¥101,200, so more powers exist than the official English table shows. Coastal Fishing in Australia lists the Prime 60 at AUD $1,100–$1,120. MAREBLE notes the guides are not SF-knot compatible.

For Florida: The short Mania Fellows models, rated up to 1,000–1,500 g, are an unusual option for extreme depth and current, where most slow pitch rods can’t handle the jig.
2-piece models and Logical Bit

Tomo’s Tackle in Salem, Massachusetts, is the only US retailer we confirmed with a Deepliner rod: the Logical 55 (#4–#10) at $704.99–$727.99. Tomo’s lists it as 5’7″, 4.25–5 oz, with 10 titanium/Torzite guides. Tomo’s also sells Deepliner jigs.
Other routes: Japanese retailers (MAREBLE, Inomata, ALLBLUE), proxy services such as ZenPlus, and eBay sellers from Japan. Japanese prices vary: we saw the Logical 60 at ¥64,900 at some stores and ¥82,500–¥85,800 at others, which may reflect a price increase.
Tips: one-piece rods ship oversize; budget for duties; and confirm the power and length before ordering, since Deepliner’s range is large.
